New Music: 50 Cent (feat. Trey Songz) – ‘Smoke’ [Prod. By Dr. Dre]

50 Cent continues his 2014 takeover with the release of his highly anticipated single ‘Smoke’ featuring Trey Songz and production from the one and only Dr. Dre. The track is the fourth song we’ve heard from Curtis this month, with the last three being ‘Pilot’, ‘Hold On’, and the Yo Gotti-assisted ‘Don’t Worry’ Bout It’.

‘Smoke’ is the latest single to be released from 50 Cent’s fifth studio LP ‘Animal Ambition’. The long-awaited project is set to impact retailers on June 3rd and 50 recently spoke at a press conference on what to expect: “The project is about prosperity, all the effects of it. Even people developing sense of entitlement on some levels, envy, jealousy. There’s the positive portion of it also. And just wanting to continue success. It matches where I am actually at this point.”

If all goes according to schedule, 50 Cent will be releasing another track next week as part of his plans to deliver new content every week up until May 20th. All the previous releases were backed by a music video so don’t be surprised to see one for ‘Smoke’ to come out shortly. Purchase the track on iTunes at midnight and take a listen below.

Cher Lloyd unveils new song 'Dirty Love'

Cher Lloyd has released a new song online.

The singer has made new track 'Dirty Love' available to download in support of her forthcoming second album Sorry I'm Late.


The track is the third to be lifted from the new collection, following previous single 'I Wish' and upcoming release 'Sirens'.

Lloyd's new album Sorry I'm Late is available to pre-order now and will be released in the US on May 27 and in the UK on June 23.

New Music: Rita Ora - "I Will Never Let You Down"

First single from Rita's studio project #2 is the Calvin Harris-produced "I Will Never Let You Down", an 'uplifting love song' as described by Rita. Many say, 'mixing love and work' isn't a good idea, but if that worked for Beyoncé and Jay-Z, why can't it work for Rita Ora and Calvin Harris? Should they break up, though, they're going to see listen to "I Will Never Let You Down" with such discomfort in the future!

"I Will Never Let You Down" premiered on UK radio (via Capital FM) on March 31st with the iTunes release date being May 11th. A whole month to promote, huh?

Review: Rita's new single is a proper Calvin Harris song, in the sense it features an up-lifting electro-pop beat, and a repetitive lyrical construction. "When you say you've had enough / And you might just give it up / I will never let you down", sings Rita Ora in the hook of "I Will Never Let You Down". The Kosovo-British singer sings "IWNLYD" really well, and lets her vocals ride the Calvin Harris 'beat' waves with no difficulty.

Overall, "I Will Never Let You Down" is a good 'electro' love mid-tempo, it's just that I expected Rita and Calvin's first collaboration to be something far more 'explosive', and extremely 'pop radio-friendly' (or something as ground-breaking as "We Found Love" by Rihanna), and this feels a little 'safe'. It's definitely going to be a 'grower' for me.

In any case, I've yet to see a Calvin Harris-produced song for another artist flop on the charts and I don't think "I Will Never Let You Down" will be an exception. #1 worthy?

Lollapalooza Unveils Full 2014 Lineup: Lorde, Foster the People, Avett Brothers Added to Headliners

Early last week, the Chicago Tribune got word of which acts would be headlining this year’s Lollapalooza, reporting that Eminem, Skrillex, Arctic Monkeys and Kings of Leon would all headline the Chicago music festival taking place August 1-3 in Grant Park.

So with the release of the official announcement today (March 26), it’s no surprise to see each of those names on the bill. But, there were a few newacts added to the list of headliners includingOutKast, Foster the People, Calvin Harris, Lorde,Avett Brothers.

Other artists scheduled to play the 2014 fest, which will boast a lineup of more than 100 bands playingacross eight stages, include Broken Bells,Grouplove and Glen Hansard.

Tickets for the festival officially went on-sale March 25 with the fest offering a limited number of early bird 3-day passes at $225, which unsurprisingly sold out in less than 24 hours. The 3-day passes are now up for grabs at $250 with single day passes going for $100.

Grammy Award- winner Dianne Reeves was born in Detroit, Michigan, to a musical family. Her father, who died when she was two years old, was also a singer. Her mother, Vada Swanson, played trumpet. A cousin, George Duke, was a well-known piano and keyboard player and record producer.

Dianne Reeves released her Concord Records debut, Beautiful Life, on February 11, 2014. The album showcases Reeves’ sublime gifts by melding elements of R&B, Latin and pop within the framework of 21st Century jazz. “At its essence,” says Reeves, “Life is beautiful and I wanted to celebrate that which is too often overlooked.”
