For Beliebers eager to hear Justin Bieber's long-awaited and much-teased-about single "Heartbreaker", they'll be frustrated to know the new song he just dropped featuring rapper Tyga is a different track. But if his fans want to hear The Biebs' soulful vocals in a seductively slow R'n'B jam, they won't be disappointed with "Wait for a Minute".
The track also isn't part of the pop superstar's any forthcoming new album but rather appears on the upcoming "WeKnowTheDJ Radio Volume 3" mixtape of DJ Tay James, Bieber's official tour DJ and MC. At least this one has been confirmed to be officially released, unlike his "Slave 2 the Rhythm" remix collaboration with Michael Jackson which surfaced online last month.
Done with a lot of whispering over a minimalist beat and with lyrics about slow-dancing and setting the right mood, "Wait for a Minute" sounds different from Bieber's usual pop vibe that fans have loved all these years. With tracks like this and his recent "Twerk" team-up with Lil Twist and Miley Cyrus, it could well signify Bieber's gradual turn growth from teeny-bopper to a more mature-sounding artist.
And while he continues to drop new music while he is still currently on tour, so does the "Beauty and a Beat" singer continuously set new records with his music, the latest being a couple of Guinness honors: the Youngest Solo Artist to Have Five U.S. No. 1 Albums and the Youngest Musician with a Music Channel Viewed Three Billion Times.
