J. Cole Producing Songs on New TLC Album
Roc Nation star vows to give duo his "best material."
By Latifah Muhammad

J. Cole's work with TLC is going to extend past their "Crooked Smile" collaboration. The North Carolina rapper is producing songs on the duo's upcoming album. Cole shared details about the project with Billboard.com during the iHeart Radio Music Festival Friday (Sept. 20).
Cole brought members Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozanda "Chilli" Thomas out to perform "Crooked Smile" for the first time live. "Finally we made that happened," he said. "We couldn't have picked a better place [than the iHeart Music Festival] to do it at. It's so huge, this was perfect for them to come out and do that song."
Adding the R&B icons to his sophomore album, Born Sinner, was a must. "I was such a fan of theirs growing up. I still am," Cole explained. "It's like when I made 'Crooked Smile,' I instantly thought of them because not only did I miss their voice, but they had these huge positive records, like 'Unpretty' and 'Waterfalls,' and I was just like 'Man, it makes too much sense. I gotta have them on a song like 'Crooked Smile.'"
If all goes according to plan, he'll return the favor with their new project. "Hopefully depending on how these songs turn out I got some production on the album that they're doing," he continued. "What we're really planning on doing is to really go in and lock in, because as a producer I know what I can give them. I know what I can bring them, and I know what they need. They don't need me, but I'll give them my best material."
Aside from building his production credits the 28-year-old is busy promoting Born Sinner and recently launched his nationwide What Dreams May Come Tour, inspired by the Robin Williams film about a man's journey through the afterlife. "Born Sinner was based on that movie conceptually, because if you listen to the album it's literally like…you['re] starting off in hell and trying to make it to heaven. The tour is the same way."
The tour wraps domestically Nov. 2 at an undisclosed location, which may or may not be New York City. "Contractually I can't announce anything," he said of why he hasn't etched out room for the Big Apple, but assured that a date is on the way. "There's certain places you just gotta go... New York is one of those ones we definitely gonna come see, I just can't announce anything for like a few weeks."
Cole begins the European leg of What Dreams May Come Nov. 24 in Paris.

Khloe Kardashian, Lamar Odom Split "Will Be Soon"
It's only a matter of time now. Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom have been estranged for weeks now, and sources say it's more a question of when, rather than if, the couple will announce a formal split. As revealed in the Sept. 30 issue of Us Weekly, the spouses of nearly four years no longer speak and are basically living separate lives at this point.
PHOTOS: Khloe and Lamar in happier times
"Her assistants packed up Lamar's clothes and dropped them off at his loft," a source tells Us of Kardashian, 29, who booted Odom, 33, from their $4 million mansion two weeks ago.
Adds another pal: "She'll be the one who ends things, and it will be soon."

"Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" Reunion -- See Them Now!
The Fab Five are together again.
No, not The Beatles ... the "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" guys!
Carson Kressley, Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Jai Rodriguez and Thom Filicia reunited on Thursday night in NYC for the "A Single Shot" premiere after-party. Pretty hard to believe it's been 10 whole years since the show, which followed a team of gay men as they offered lifestyle and grooming tips to straight guys in desperate need of a makeover, debuted on Bravo. The show even helped make over the network itself, making it the reality TV goldmine it is today. The gang got together over a couple Purity vodka cocktails last night and filmed a special today with Andy Cohen for Bravo, airing in October. So, what do the guys all look like now? Click the gallery to see. Plus, find out what they've all been up to since the show went off the air!

MTV Artist To Watch: Iggy Azalea
Meet your new favorite smart-mouthed lady rapper: MTV Artist To Watch Iggy Azalea.
Generally speaking, when we see tall, willowy blonde girls, the last
thing we'd expect is for them to be foul-mouthed rappers. But then
again, we've never met anyone like Iggy Azalea:
a tall, blonde, willowy rapper who is anything but submissive, generic,
or cookie-cutter. For one thing, she's not afraid to break song title
taboos ("Pu$$y," "Dirt In Your P***y A** B****"). Face it, girl's got
more bleeps than an entire season of "The Sopranos." But you know us:
We're suckers for taboo-breaking, fast-talking, take-no-s***, strong,
sexy women. Especially when they remind us of other pop music icons like
Ke$ha, Missy Elliot, Nicki Minaj, and Azealia Banks.Read more about Iggy Azalea after the jump.
Born Amethyst Amelia Kelly (now there's a mouthful) in Sydney, Australia, Iggy started her rapping career at just 14 years old. Initially she joined up with some friends in the neighborhood, hoping to emulate Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez from TLC, but eventually left to do her own solo thing. (I mean, really, could YOU see Iggy sharing the fame?) And here comes the ballsiest part: In 2006, after saving up a bunch of money cleaning hotel rooms with her mom, Iggy permanently left Australia for the States, telling her parents that she was "going on holiday." (Word to the wise, Iggy: It's not a "holiday" if you never come back.)
After bouncing around the States for a few years, Iggy finally settled in Los Angeles in 2010, where she began uploading freestyle videos on YouTube, but things REALLY got going when her first official music video, "Pu$$y," hit the 'net in 2011. (Can't imagine why...) Iggy's Independent Art mixtape quickly followed, featuring guest appearances with everyone from Chevy Jones to Problem.
Now signed to major label Island Def Jam (!!), Iggy's got all kinds of things going on. For one thing, she's now a bona fide model (signed to Wilhelmina Models), she's opened for Rita Ora, she's released two mixtapes (Ignorant Art, TrapGold), an EP (Glory) and is gearing up to unleash her first official LP, The New Classic, in September. All we can say is, it's been a long time coming.
But for someone who hasn't even released a full LP yet, the MTV Artist To Watch has PLENTY of material under her twerking belt. Just look at such club-ready, one-word anthems as "Work" and "Bounce," two relatively new tracks that showcase the rapper's no-nonsense, expletive-riddled verses. Iggy's not afraid to push cultural boundaries either -- her Bollywood-inspired "Bounce" video sparked up a lil' controversy when the singer wore a full sari, bindi, and rode an elephant around Mumbai. (But, um, need we remind you that Selena Gomez basically did the same thing in her 2013 MTV Movie Awards "Come & Get It" performance?) No harm done, however -- Iggy's been through worse. After all, you don't spend your entire first single talking up your ladyparts without inviting a little critical whiplash.
Download Iggy's TrapGold mixtape for free on her website, watch four exclusive live performances below, and if you're heading to Europe this summer (grrrr), look out for her upcoming European tour dates!
