In addition to dozens of columns hailing a passing of the torch in the pool, Ryan Lochte's dominant victory over Michael Phelps in the 400m IM on Saturday spawned something else inevitable.

Treat yourself to the "Call Me Maybe" parody video celebrating Lochte finally pushing his biggest rival aside.




Yes, you're sick of "Call Me Maybe" parodies. Yes, I'm sick of "Call Me Maybe" parodies. Heck, even Carly Rae Jepsen is probably sick of "Call Me Maybe" parodies. But credit the folks from the sports comedy YouTube channel The NOC for coming up with one with lyrics funny enough to make you chuckle even if the tune still makes you cringe.

Sherman Hemsley has died, but we have his body of work to look back at.
Here is Sherman Hemsley performing  “Eyes in the Dark” on Soul Train in 1992 from his “Dance” album.
Let’s always remember the joy he gave us.



Sherman had an interesting career. He  had dual roles as one half of a bumbling police duo (along with original “Electric Company” player Luis Avalos) and as the ghost of his slave grandfather assisting him throughout the movie. You see, these two cops have been sent to serve an eviction notice to two beautiful sisters living in an old Atlanta antebellum home haunted by the ghost of its original crazy, slave-owning, racist owner. Hijinks ensure!
That Ghost Fever’s style of comedy felt like a very bad attempt to do 1930’s “Laurel & Hardy” style shtick in 1987 might have something to do with the screenwriter (Oscar Brodney) having been around 80 years old at the time and not having had a single writing credit to his name since 1971.

In the years following he has success with All In the Family which Norman Lear spun off into The Jeffersons. After the Jefferson he played the surly conniving Pastor in Amen. He will be missed.

Jay Electronica's Act II: Patents of Nobility (the Turn) has been expected since he signed to Roc Nation two years ago. And while there's still no word on when the album will actually come out, Jay tweeted the album's tracklist earlier today. It promises guest spots from Jay-Z, Kanye West, Charlotte and Serge Gainsbourg, The-Dream, Sean Diddy Combs, and, uh, Ronald Reagan. "Life on Mars" also appears to be dedicated to Jay's ex and former collaborator, Erykah Badu, via her Twitter handle. "Dear Moleskine" is notably absent.

Chad Everett, the blue-eyed star of the 1970s TV series "Medical Center" who went on to appear in such films and TV shows as “Mulholland Drive” and “Melrose Place,” has died. He was 75.
Everett’s daughter, Katherine Thorp, said he died Tuesday at his home in Los Angeles after a year-and-a-half-long battle with lung cancer.

Everett played sensitive doctor Joe Gannon for seven years on “Medical Center.” The role earned him two Golden Globes and an Emmy nomination.
With a career spanning more than 40 years, Everett guest starred on such TV series as “The Love Boat,” “Murder, She Wrote” and “Without a Trace.” Everett most recently appeared in the TV series “Castle.” His films credits included “The Jigsaw Murders,” “The Firechasers” and director Gus Van Sant’s “Psycho.”

Everett was born in South Bend, Ind., and graduated from Wayne State University before moving to Los Angeles and becoming a contract player with MGM.

 Sherman Hemsley, who played George Jefferson on The Jeffersons, has died at 74, according to police.

The actor played Jefferson in All in the Family and its successful spin-off, The Jeffersons.

He also played Deacon Ernest Frye on Amen.

Hemsley died at his home in El Paso, Texas, police tell TMZ. El Paso TV news station KVIA also reports the actor died there, citing a friend.

Hemsley had no wife or children.

Jermaine, Randy and Janet Jackson have been barred from their mother Katherine's Calabasas home after attempting to remove their brother Michael's three children from the house on Monday, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.
The situation adds to the ongoing drama with the Jackson family, as Katherine has been in Arizona for more than a week and hasn't spoken to her grandchildren, of whom she is the legal guardian. "It was just total chaos when Jermaine, Randy and Janet descended on the house.

"Randy was telling Prince Michael he had to leave with them and that he had a private jet chartered to take them all to Arizona to see Katherine. Prince firmly held his ground and told Randy he wasn't going anywhere with them. The security detail prevented the three of them from taking the kids out of state. The cops had to be called and Janet kept saying they had a legal right to be at the house when in fact they don't. The rental house is in the name of Michael Jackson's estate, so they were told to leave immediately. For the time being, they won't be allowed to come back to the rental house and guards at the security gate have been told under no circumstances are they to allow them in. Paris was absolutely hysterical and kept telling her uncles to just bring her grandmother home," a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com.

"The plan to take the kids out of the house was going to be a publicity stunt. The kids were going to be paraded into the house in Arizona where Katherine is staying and those photos would be published on a website favored by Randy Jackson."
As previously reported Janet was behind Katherine's removal from her home to Arizona, after becoming adamant that her mom needed bed rest and to be checked out by an independent doctor. And a source has revealed that Katherine is doing just fine.

"Katherine is very well,” a family member told RadarOnline.com. “Janet was behind the whole thing – she felt that Katherine needed medical help and was desperate for her to get some bed rest."
"Michael's children are being cared for by their nanny and legal options are being explored about ensuring their safety. The children are very, very smart and they are surrounded by excellent bodyguards that won't allow anything unsavory to happen to them. The kids just want their grandmother back, and want the family drama to end. Now that Paris and Prince are old enough, they understand why Michael didn't have much of a relationship with anyone in the family except for Katherine," the source says.

Mum Chantal and four of her daughters are all swelling with pride after a series of ops — and now they want youngest sister Britney, 14, to go under the knife.
Chantal, 53, is a size 32GG after four boob jobs. Emma, 30, is also 32GG after three ops, Ripley, 21, is 32DD after one, Terri, 27, is 34HH after three and Tara, 26, has had two ops to become 34F.
In total, the busty fivesome had nearly three litres of silicone put in their breasts in 13 ops.
The only female in the family with natural boobs is schoolgirl Britney — but Chantal is already encouraging her to go for an enlargement operation when she is old enough at 18.

PHILADELPHIA –  A man suspected of trying to kidnap a 10-year-old girl off a sidewalk near her Philadelphia home was arrested Thursday after widely publicized surveillance video of the attack led him to surrender, authorities said.
Carlos Figueroa-Fagot, 33, was charged with attempted kidnapping, indecent assault and related offenses. It was not immediately clear if he had a lawyer.
The chilling video had been broadcast extensively since police released it a day earlier, leading to tips about the suspect's identity. Police Capt. John Darby said the footage essentially "forced him to come forward."
"He felt that he could not walk, talk or breathe out there on the streets," Darby said at a news conference.
The victim, whom Darby described as "a real trooper," suffered superficial injuries and has been talking with police about what happened.
The attempted abduction late Tuesday afternoon appeared to be completely random, Darby said, although he noted the suspect has had previous encounters with police. Figueroa-Fagot lives several miles from the girl's neighborhood in south Philadelphia.
The video shows a man approach the girl from behind in broad daylight as she walks home from a corner store with her toddler brother. The man puts his hand over the girl's mouth and tries to carry her away, but she struggles and the young boy screams.
"(The victim) said ... she's never heard him scream that loud in the past," Darby said. "She credits him with interrupting the attack."
The kidnap try lasts only seconds before the man runs to his car and drives off.
Police also found the white car that they believe the suspect was driving. Authorities said the man followed the children, leaving his car door open with the apparent intention of dragging the girl to the vehicle.
Court records indicate Figueroa-Fagot was charged with sexual offenses against a minor in February 2011 in Philadelphia, which were later dropped. That case involved accusations made by a family member, District Attorney Seth Williams said Thursday. The alleged victim and her mother later told prosecutors they made up the accusations, and officials dropped the charges this month, Williams said.
Figueroa-Fagot had run-ins with police in Puerto Rico, where he previously lived, Darby said. He said none of those — between 2000 and 2006 — involved allegations of sexual assaults.

A teenager was found dead in an Internet cafe in Taiwan after reportedly playing a video game for 40 hours straight.
The 18-year-old, who has only been identified by his surname, Chuang, is believed to have collapsed during a marathon session of Diablo 3.

On the morning of July 15, an attendant entered the room and found Chuang resting on a table. After the attendant woke him, he stood, took a few steps and then collapsed, reports said.
He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at a local hospital.
Police were investigating the cause of death and an autopsy was being carried out.
It is the second death from playing video games in the country this year.
In February, a man in New Taipei was found dead, slumped in a chair facing a computer with his arms still reaching out for the keyboard after playing for 23 hours. The cause of death was reported as cardiac arrest.

MTV reality star Diem Brown has decided to undergo another round of fertility treatments in order to harvest more eggs before she surgically removes her ovary as part of her cancer treatment, People.com reported.
Brown, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 22, had one ovary and several lymph nodes removed before she starred in Real World/Road Rules Challenge. She participated in the network’s The Challenge: Battle of the Exes in 2011.
Now, at the age of 30, the cancer has returned, and doctors need to remove the last part of her remaining ovary.
She told People.com that she knows her decision to delay surgery will make other people judge her, but she won’t have any regret.
“This isn’t my first rodeo, and regret can become your worst enemy,” Brown wrote in her blog on People.com. “I’ve already been through the long and challenging months of chemo six years ago, and I remember how depressed I was during certain parts of my treatment.”
Brown added “there is no going back after they remove my last part of my ovary. It starts my next cancer journey, and I’m scared.”
However, Brown is adamant about having a biological baby.
Since her mother died, Brown hopes a piece of her mother will be passed on in her future child.
“For me, the desire to have a biological baby is the hope that my mom … will come alive in my child,” Brown said. “Storing eggs in a freezer makes me feel that if I leave this earth, then at least a part of me will still be here.”
Brown said she will take fertility drugs for 16 days, while doctors monitor her cancer and tumors through a blood test and internal ultrasounds.
Brown is the creator of MedGift.com, the first-ever patient gift registry for people in the hospital.
Patient registries on MedGift.com are verified through a patient’s hospital bill. Friends and family can log on to donate everything from money to help pay for things like hospital bills, groceries, medical equipment and they can even donate visits, letters and prayers.
“Any item that can help reduce one ounce of stress, they can register for it,” Brown told Fox News in March. “It takes the pride out of asking for help.”
According to the Mayo Clinic, ovarian cancer can often go undetected for a long period of time.
Symptoms can include: abdominal pressure, fullness, swelling or bloating, changes in bowel or bladder habits, low back pain and a persistent lack of energy.
Risks for the disease can include: inherited gene mutations, increasing age, never having been pregnant or hormone replacement therapy for menopause, the Mayo Clinic said on its website.

Has Tom Cruise's church set him up with a rebound romance following his surprise split from third wife Katie Holmes?
That's what Radaronline.com is reporting. They say Cruise is being linked to devout Scientologist, and virtually unknown actress, Yolanda Pecoraro.
A former Scientologist said Pecararo is a "Scientology princess, perfect for Tom," the site reports.
Radaronline.com says this wouldn't even be the first go around for the two. According to Andrew Morton's unauthorized Cruise biography, "Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography," Cruise and Pecoraro went on a double date to a soccer match in Spain with David Beckham and Posh Spice back in 2004 after he split from second wife Nicole Kidman, the site claims. Cruise was apparently in the country to open a Scientology Center.
Pecoraro was the covergirl for the October/November issue of the men's magazine For Your Eyes magazine, billed as "the sexiest senorita to hit Hollywood in years." Cruise was also linked to another little known Latina actress around the same time, TV's current highest paid actress, Sofia Vergara.
When contacted by the National Enquirer, Pecoraro did not confirm the status of any relationship with the "Mission Impossible" star one way or another, but did acknowledge she and Cruise had been in contact over the years.
"Yes, I knew and still know Tom Cruise," she said. "And no, I'm not married or engaged."
Pecoraro has been taking Scientology courses since she was 13, the site reports.
Differences she had with Scientology and fears their daughter Suri, 6, was about to start begin her Scientology training were reportedly part of the reason Holmes filed for divorce from Cruise late last month.

However, many of these particular serums are packed full of silicone, which over time weakens hair and can cause massive breakage. No thank you!
So, to keep your tresses sleek AND strong, try out this at-home DIY hair serum! Full of fabulous, natural essential oils, this concoction will be all you need to boast a sexy, frizz-free look all summer long!
What you’ll need:
- 4 ounces Camellia Oil – blocks UV rays and promotes hair growth.
- ½ ounce Castor Oil – soothes and softens coarse hair.
- ½ Ounce Unrefined Avocado Oil – moisturizes and enriches tresses with vitamins A, B1, D, E and other minerals!
- 25 Drops essential oils (for scent)
(Peppermint for dry hair and lavender or rose oil for fine to normal hair).
- Dark glass bottle for storage (light bottles allow too much sunlight in, which damages the oil).
How to:
- Combine all the ingredients together in the bottle.
- Shake well.
